Our specialist prosthodontist is committed to providing personalized, high-quality care in a welcoming and comfortable environment. Below is an overview of the comprehensive prosthodontic services we offer.

Our Prosthodontic Treatments:

  • Dental Implants: A permanent solution for missing teeth, our dental implants provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth, designed to match your natural teeth and restore your smile’s functionality and appearance.
  • Dental Crowns: Custom-made to fit over the entire tooth, starting at the gum line, dental crowns are ideal for protecting a weak tooth from breaking or restoring an already broken tooth, covering dental implants, or making a cosmetic modification.
  • Dental Bridges: Used to replace one or more missing teeth, bridges span the space where the teeth are missing and are cemented to the natural teeth or implants surrounding the empty space, which serve as anchors for the bridge.
  • Dentures: We provide both complete and partial dentures for patients who have lost all or some of their teeth. Our dentures are designed for comfort, functionality, and aesthetics, allowing you to speak, eat, and smile with confidence.
  • Veneers: Our custom-made veneers are thin, tooth-colored shells designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. Veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth, changing their color, shape, size, or length.
  • Maxillofacial Prosthetics: For patients with more specialized needs, including those with defects due to cancer, surgery, trauma, or congenital conditions, we offer maxillofacial prosthetic services to restore oral and facial structures.

Introduction to Prosthodontics at Dulwich Dental Office

Prosthodontics is a specialized field of dentistry focused on designing, making, and fitting artificial replacements for teeth and other parts of the mouth. Our specialist prosthodontist at Dulwich Dental Office is an expert in restoring and maintaining oral function, comfort, appearance, and health for patients with missing or deficient teeth or oral and maxillofacial tissues.

Our Specialist Prosthodontists

Our specialist prosthodontists have undergone extensive training beyond dental school, including a five-year residency in prosthodontics. This advanced education equips them to address complex dental conditions that require precision, creativity, and a deep understanding of dental aesthetics and materials. They are skilled in diagnosing, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of oral health, and are recognized experts in dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, and facial prosthetics.

Advanced Treatments Offered

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a cornerstone of prosthodontic treatment, providing a durable foundation for replacement teeth. Our specialist prosthodontists use state-of-the-art implant technology to replace single teeth, multiple teeth, or full arches, focusing on achieving natural-looking results that enhance functionality and facial aesthetics.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are used to restore the structure, strength, and appearance of damaged or decayed teeth, while bridges are employed to fill the gaps left by one or more missing teeth. Our specialist prosthodontists custom-design these restorations to match the natural color and shape of your teeth, ensuring a seamless integration into your smile.

We offer both complete and partial dentures to replace missing teeth and restore oral function. Our dentures are designed for comfort, aesthetics, and durability, using advanced materials that mimic the appearance of natural gums and teeth.

For patients looking to improve the cosmetic appearance of their smile, veneers provide a minimally invasive solution. Our specialist prosthodontists expertly craft these thin porcelain shells to cover the front surface of teeth, addressing issues such as discoloration, chips, and gaps.

Maxillofacial Prosthetics

For patients with more specialized needs due to congenital defects, trauma, or the aftermath of surgery, our clinic offers maxillofacial prosthetic services. This includes the creation of artificial eyes, ears, noses, and other facial prosthetics, designed to restore both function and aesthetics.

Cutting-Edge Technology and Techniques

Dulwich Dental Office is committed to utilizing the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques. This includes digital dentistry tools such as CAD/CAM systems for precise fabrications of restorations, 3D imaging for accurate treatment planning, and advanced materials that offer superior strength and aesthetics. Our specialist prosthodontists continually update their skills and knowledge to incorporate the latest evidence-based practices in their treatments.

We understand that each patient’s needs are unique, which is why we emphasize personalized care and comprehensive treatment planning. Full mouth reconstruction (or, Prosthodontics) is a dental speciality that focuses on complex dental issues, which can include severely decayed, broken or worn teeth, as well as complicated bites (malocclusions) which can inhibit speech and eating.
These dental complications require various delicate and sensitive reconstructive treatments to restore full health, form and function. Full mouth reconstruction transforms dental health to provide patients with an improved quality of life.

Time needed to complete full mouth restoration is different for each patient. Extensive dental damage requires greater treatment and a longer treatment time, whereas minimal damage can be corrected much more quickly. Naturally, each reconstructive treatment varies in length and scope. A dental implant, for example, involves two separate stages with a six-month wait in between. You can discuss the timescale for your individual treatment with your dentist.

  • Examination The full mouth reconstruction procedure begins with a thorough dental examination to assess the patient’s oral health, which includes, the periodontal tissue, jaw muscles, as well as the colour, shape, and size of the teeth. X-rays, photographs, and impressions of the teeth will also be taken with the help of a periodontist or orthodontist
  • Cleaning Before any reconstructive treatments can commence, the teeth must first be cleaned. The dentist begins by cleaning the healthy teeth, before moving onto the infected or damaged tooth. The gums will also be checked for gum disease. Gum disease must be treated before the full mouth construction goes ahead.
  • Reconstruction
    • Dental implants Used to restore damaged, decayed, or missing teeth, dental implants are often essential for full mouth rehabilitation. Implants are titanium screws placed into the jaw bone. They function as the tooth root and provide a lifetime of strength and support for the replacement crown. Implants restore full performance, and allow for comfortable biting and chewing.
    • Dental crowns Dental crowns (or caps) fit over injured or infected teeth to restore strength and shape. Crowns are strong and permanent restorations which also enhance appearance. They mimic the enamel of natural teeth for an attractive and realistic finish.
    • Porcelain veneers Porcelain veneers are the perfect solution to many dental imperfections, such as, crooked, discoloured and chipped teeth. They are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of porcelain bonded to the front surface of the teeth. Depending on your preferences, porcelain veneers can be made to whiten your teeth, or to match the existing shade or your enamel.
  • An attractive smile — full mouth reconstruction surgery can straighten crooked or misaligned teeth, whiten discoloured or yellow teeth, and even out gappy or gummy smiles.
  • Healthy teeth and gums — free from tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Improved confidence and self-esteem — your teeth will look and feel so much better!
  • A fully functioning set of teeth — you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence and ease.
  • Full chewing capacity — there’s no need to avoid hard or chewy foods. Get ready to enjoy a varied and nutritious diet!
  • No more dental complications or imperfections — missing, broken, damaged, infected, and crooked teeth are fully restored!
  • Improved quality of life — a beautiful smile and good dental health can help the way you feel about yourself and your life, and can even improve your relationships with friends and family.

The exact cost of full mouth reconstruction depends on the extent of your individual treatment. Extensive restorative work is likely to be costly. The range of techniques and materials involved, as well as the replacement teeth themselves, can quickly mount up the price. Exact figures of the full mouth reconstruction cost in the UK can range from £ 20 000 up to £ 50 000.

The Dentist, Hygienist, Dental Nurses & Especially the Receptionist staff are very Polite, Friendly & most importantly they try to fit you in quickly in the event of an emergency. Recently I couldn’t get the time of work for an emergency appointment for my 81 year old Mum so I called an Uber for her & told the receptionist this. The young Black Lady called me when she ordered & place my Mother in a cab – so she went above & beyond her duties with a lot of Customer Care & Respect for my Mother- Thank You so much

Zehra M.

I lost my two front teeth whilst at school and had complications for years. Unfortunately I ended up needing an implant – which I had been avoiding! I wish I had done it sooner. Dr Patel was fantastic and guided me through each stage. He was always contactable to answer any queries or concerns. Very happy with the end result and would reccomend.

Tom O.

Registered and seen on the NHS within 2 weeks – amazing. Really friendly staff, would definitely recommend

Tom C.

I have recently finished an invisalign program with Pooja at dulwich dental office and couldn’t be happier. The treatment was easy and pain free and the results are great. Pooja’s experience and friendliness made me feel at ease throughout. I would 100% recommend for anyone considering similar treatment.

Toby B.

A great surgery; Dr Cavan in particular spent time with me to make sure my new night guards fitted well and were up to the job

Dentist Pooja Pillay is excellent and was very patient with me as I I took a long time (years!) deciding whether or not to take the plunge and have Invisalign to straighten my teeth. It didn’t take too long and was easier than I thought it would be. Pooja kept a close eye on how it was all progressing and we even went a bit longer with it just to really perfect the result. I’m delighted with the outcome. Everything was included in the price, even the extra aligners and appointments when we decided to go on a bit longer. All staff at the practice have been excellent. Highly recommend.

Susie F.

I had my Invisaligns done by Dr Pillay and she really took the time to make sure my teeth are lovely and straight. She has always been available with any queries or follow up treatment I needed – and made me feel well looked after from the beginning and end of the treatment. I really recommend seeing her if you want to get Invisaligns done.

Stella C.
